why fermacell?
Fermacell board provides a number of major benefits over plasterboard. Simple to install – although the technique is slightly different to plasterboard – there is no need for a wet plaster skim.
It is the ideal solution as it’s a ‘one-board type’ answer for partitions, wall linings, ceilings providing sound, fire and impact resistance often with less layers than plasterboard. Making Fermacell the ideal choice as the ultimate board to meet the challenges in modern constructions such as building regulations, but also the life time of the building and living environment requires careful thought.
Fermacell is strong enough to support radiators, cupboards and shelves without any special screws or re-inforcements; you don’t need to think about secondary support. In fact, up to 30kg can be supported from a single screw fixed straight into the board with no additional fixings - this goes up to 50kg with a toggle type fixing.
Fermacell is a simple solution to dry lining requirements, The boards are bonded at the joints with our Jointstik adhesive and over coated with Fine Surface Treatment providing a skim type finish reducing the need for specialist skills and drying time.
